Creating a unique fusion of funk, bluegrass, reggae, world music, rock, EDM and more, they continue to push the musical spectrum everyday.įounded in 1997, the Syncopating Sea-Monkeys of River City have a proud tradition of entertaining crowds while launching the careers of several members of the music industry, including New Orleans musicians Nahum Zdybel, Caleb Nelson and Gavin Eckler. They have gained a reputation for their high-energy shows with extended multi-genre jams, meaningful songwriting, and entertaining stage antics. West Coast indie groove sensations Blü Egyptian are a youthful quartet based out of Chico, CA. Since 1972, the Wichita Jazz Festival has brought huge names in the industry to Wichita to help build on the love for one of the oldest genres of music in the world. With concerts, educational opportunities and the annual festival, some of the biggest names in the genre have made their way to Wichita to pair professional players with those learning the style. For more than 50 years, the Wichita Jazz Festival has been celebrating the history and legacy of jazz music while encouraging and developing the next generation of musicians.
